Spring Show 2023 Upcoming

TIPTREE GARDEN CLUB is holding the Spring Show on Sat.25th March at Thurstable School opening at 2 p.m. Admission £1. There will be classes for flowers, vegetables, photography, cookery, handicrafts, floral art also classes for children to take part in.

The local junior schools can compete in an inter-school challenge for The Schools Shield, more information about this challenge will be available from the schools.

There are classes for children individually, up to the age 16, with £10 prize money for the child with most points. Children can also enter the adult classes but any points gained from these will not be counted towards the children's classes points. Classes in some sections change each year, see the current schedule for new challenges.

There is always help available with setting up exhibits for new exhibitors.

Millins of Tiptree sponsor a class in the daffodil section, Staines and Brights Home and Hardware sponsor a class in the Cookery section and The Cheap Shop sponsor a class in the Handicraft section; the prize money for these classes is 1st-£10-00, 2nd- £5-00 & 3rd-£2-50.

The challenge for the sponsored cookery class is 'a Bakewell tart'. For the sponsored handicraft class, decorate a T shirt using any technique. See the schedule for more details.

Have a look at the schedule and see what you have in your garden, in your cookery books, craft boxes or photo albums, for items that can be entered.

There will be refreshments available, a raffle also a white raffle, the proceeds from this raffle is split 50/50 with the first ticket and the club.

There will be stalls selling Pauline’s preserves- Celia’s succulents-Sue’s handmade cards-2 selling craft bric-a-brac, Farleigh hospice crafts and the u3a.
